Big Wall

On 10 April, troops of US and Iraq armies began to constract big cement wall in baghdad and some cities.
Its height is 3.6m, and length is 5km, this long curtain runs as if it divides Sunni and Shia districts.

This project was suggested to make the wall as a shield protecting people and cities from attacks, mainly suicide bombings by US military.

But Iraq prime minister, Mr.Maliki, some politician or some residents say with one voice, they feel that partition may cause more conflicts or deepen serious, severe sectarian gulf between Sunni and Shia.

Now, the building is expected to complete in this month.

[My questions]
1. How feel do people who presupposed that that wall may deteriorate relation between two sect about this constracting?
2. Does that project go as the US military said on word in spite of thought of local people?

Good work, Ayane. Interesting questions, especially the second one.
